Axalta Japan backed ‘TEAM ROMAN,’ a Japanese college racing and restoration team comprising of students from the University of Tokyo and Honda Technical College, to participate and finish the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique 2020. This is the third consecutive year that Axalta Japan supported the team to join the world renowned restoration and rally competition.
At the Monte-Carlo Historique this year, Axalta supported four cars from Team Roman: a Honda SB1 Civic, a Toyota TE27 Sprinter Trueno, a Toyota TE27 Corolla Levin and a Nissan Cherry Coupe.
Axalta helped the team restore the car bodies by applying the Standox VOC compliant system. The students were also trained to master paint application at Axalta’s Refinish Training Center in Utsunomiya, Japan.
