The No. 67 Ford GT drivers Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe share finished fifth, while Joey Hand and Dirk Müller finished where they started, sixth, in the No. 66 Ford GT. Briscoe started on the second row after qualifying third.

The No. 67 entered the race with two wins and a podium at the Toronto-area track since the Ford GT’s debut in 2016.

“This race usually comes around to us, but it just didn’t go our way today,” Westbrook said. “We didn’t quite have the edge we needed and we knew we would need a little luck, but it just didn’t happen.”

Müller is fifth in the championship points, while Hand is 11th after missing two races due to an illness. Briscoe and Westbrook are sixth.

Even though the track that had been so lucky for Ford CGR in the past yielded disappointing results, the team will remain undaunted when they arrive at Lime Rock Park July 19-20, 2019 for the Northeast Grand Prix.

“We have to say thank you to our crew at Ford CGR for working so hard every day,” Müller said. “They’ve been flat out since the Le Mans 24, along with our partners at Ford Performance and Michelin, keeping us in the hunt for wins. It didn’t happen here but Lime Rock is an all-GT category race and things can get pretty wild, so we’ll take the extra time to prepare and be ready.”

Five races remain in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech series.
