Axalta Racing is taking a look back at longtime partner Jeff Gordon’s incredible career as he enters the NASCAR Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2019.
Jeff Gordon raced under just one owner in his Cup Series career, meaning Hendrick Motorsports boss Rick Hendrick knows the four-time champion better than most.
“I think that most of these young guys in racing should thank him very much because he opened the door for open-wheel guys and everybody else to come in the sport,” Hendrick said of the man who drove the No. 24 from 1992 to 2015. “When he was on a roll, everyone was looking for the next Jeff Gordon.”
Hendrick looked back on Gordon’s run that “revolutionized the sport” when it was announced the California native would be a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
