The iconic flames of the No. 24 and the “Primary Colors” scheme of the No. 88 will be back on NASCAR tracks next season.
William Byron and Alex Bowman announced that their current paint schemes will return in 2019 during Axalta’s production day on Wednesday.
The signature flames scheme, first driven by Jeff Gordon, made its return for the 2018 season. At last year’s unveiling, Byron described how excited he was to pilot the iconic look: “It really made me light up… Just everything about it, the body, the paint scheme, the blue. Blue has always been with me throughout my career and it’s really special to intertwine it with the No. 24 legacy, so it’s really cool.”
Versions of Bowman’s “Primary Colors” scheme can be seen throughout many of the 14 Axalta-sponsored motorsports series around the world, including on the Trophy Truck for the 2018 SCORE Baja 1000 and in Colombia’s TC2000 series.
Axalta will sponsor Bowman for 12 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races in 2019 and Byron for 13 races.
To celebrate the announcement, we’re giving away an Axalta hat signed by Byron, Bowman and Gordon!
